Where are you working this year?
Once a week I go to JOIN, a day center for people experiencing homelessness. I also work at Habitat for Humanity four days a week.
Favorite way to refer to Tivnu participants:
Something that’s surprised you this year:
How many steps it takes to build a house. I helped build half a house at the Beaverton Habitat site and it was much more complicated than I thought it would be.
Favorite Tivnu activity so far:
Building our beds over orientation. It took teamwork early on in the year.
Tivnu: Building Justice is optimistic that our 2020 - 21 Gap Year program will continue as planned, beginning on September 1. We are still accepting applicants, as space permits. Our staff is working remotely but with great excitement as we prepare for internships, learning, living, and enjoying the Pacific Northwest together. We will be implementing whatever modifications are needed to keep ourselves and the people we work with safe and healthy. Now, more than ever, we need to get to work, building a better world.
