Favorite way to refer to Tivnu participants: Tivnudists
Where are you working this year?
Once a week I work at Rose Haven, a day shelter for women, Three days a week I’m at Sisters of the Road, a cafe style soup kitchen, and I’m at Habitat for Humanity once a week.
Something that’s surprised you this year:
How open people are when they’re sharing their stories and experiences and how engaged they are with the people around them.
Favorite Tivnu activity so far:
Camping at Scott Lake and hiking many “Steve-miles” in the rain.
Tivnu: Building Justice is optimistic that our 2020 - 21 Gap Year program will continue as planned, beginning on September 1. We have extended the application deadline to June 1, as space permits. Our staff is working remotely but with great excitement as we prepare for internships, learning, living, and enjoying the Pacific Northwest together. We will be implementing whatever modifications are needed to keep ourselves and the people we work with safe and healthy. Now, more than ever, we need to get to work, building a better world.
