Ilana McNamara

Ilana McNamara (she/they) is excited to return to Tivnu as a RA for a second year! Although originally from Omaha, Nebraska, being with Tivnu feels like a homecoming to Ilana, whose dad grew up in Portland a few blocks away from the Tivnu bayit (house). Ilana spent their gap year living and playing music in Sri Lanka, and finds meaning working within Jewish communities, including as a Unit Head at Eden Village Camp in upstate New York. An alum of Oberlin College and Conservatory with degrees in Viola Performance and Mathematics, Ilana also holds minors in Interdisciplinary Performance and Improvisation. You can find Ilana at some of their favorite local spots — enjoying the scenery at the Lan Su Chinese Garden, cheering for the Portland Fire at the Moda Center, and spending time with their grandparents at their retirement home.
