Nominate a Teen for the Tivnu
Gap Year

Are you a teen professional, educator, Rabbi, or supervisor with a teen who would be a great fit for our gap year? Let us know! The Tivnu Gap Year, for 17- to 20-year-olds, offers hands-on internships for social change, adventures in the stunning Pacific Northwest and Nayarit, Mexico, and friendships that last a lifetime. Participants live in a vibrant and inclusive Jewish home in Portland, Oregon.

Nominators are invited to match young people to the program who they feel are a good fit due to their time teaching, counseling, supervising, or working with them in some other capacity. Nominees will then be invited to apply and will receive $2,500 off of tuition if accepted. If additional need-based financial aid is necessary, please know that we have made the Tivnu Gap Year financially feasible for every accepted applicant ever.

Nominations are accepted year-round, but please know that a gap year is a big decision for a young person and their family to consider, as it differs from the path many of their peers will be taking. Putting this opportunity on a teen's radar earlier in their high school years, when possible, can be beneficial to their planning process.
