Sarah Bunin Benor, PhD
Sarah Bunin Benor, PhD, is Professor of Contemporary Jewish Studies and Linguistics at Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion, Los Angeles campus. Her books include Becoming Frum: How Newcomers Learn the Language and Culture of Orthodox Judaism and Hebrew Infusion: Language and Community at American Jewish Summer Camps. Dr. Benor is founding co-editor of the Journal of Jewish Languages and directs the HUC-JIR Jewish Language Project, which features the Jewish Language Website and the Jewish English Lexicon. She has served on the boards of Pressman Academy, Habonim Dror Camp Gilboa, and the Association of Jewish Studies. She became a fan of Tivnu based on her daughter’s experience as a participant in T10 (2023-24), which enriched her life and ours in many ways.
