Jonathan Weiler, Ph.D.

Jonathan Weiler is Teaching Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Curriculum in Global Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received his PhD in political science. He has written several books, including Authoritarianism and Polarization in American Politics (Cambridge University Press, 2009), co-authored with Marc Hetherington), which won the Philip Converse award from the American Political Science Association in 2016, in recognition of the book’s lasting impact on the field, and Prius or Pickup: How the Answers to Four Simple Questions Explain America’s Great Divide (2018), also co-authored with Marc Hetherington. He has had numerous educational sessions over the years with Tivnu cohorts, sessions which he has found to be particularly engaging, spirited and, in the best sense, challenging.
