Bruce Friedland

Bruce Friedland, a former newspaper reporter, has spent the past 19 years as a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. A father of three children, Bruce has an abiding interest in fostering a robust, healthy Jewish identity for the 21st century and has previously served on the board of a Jewish day school. He is a graduate of Harvard University and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
Bruce deeply supports gap year programs as an alternative for high school graduates before heading to college. His son Izzy spent the 2018-2019 in Portland with Tivnu, seeing first-hand the many problems those without housing, steady employment and sufficient wages face. Bruce and his wife live in the Maryland suburbs just outside of Washington, DC.
