Jonathan Weiler received his Ph. D. in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he is a faculty member and director of undergraduate studies in the Global Studies curriculum. He has written two books, Human Rights in Russia, and Authoritarianism and Polarization in American Politics, co-authored with Marc Hetherington. He writes political commentary for the Huffington Post and the Independent Weekly of North Carolina and has appeared on radio throughout the United States to discuss his writing. Weiler serves on the board of the Community Home Trust, an organization that provides affordable housing to hundreds of individuals and families in North Carolina. He is especially excited about Tivnu’s vision of wedding larger concerns of social justice and Tikkun Ha’Olam with concrete efforts to improve communities.
